A while back Ryan Robert, author of The Ultimate Beginners Running Guide: The Key To Running Inspired, contacted me and gave me a digital copy of his book to do a review on it. Let me just start off by saying, this is a great resource especially for runners just starting out.
His book, The Ultimate Beginners Running Guide: The Key To Running Inspired, is directed towards the obvious – BEGINNER RUNNERS. He covers a lot of the basic, but important, aspects of running.
As you can see from the table of contents (well, if you can read that tiny print) he covers everything from good running form to hydration to common running injuries to training schedules for beginners. There is a lot of good, useful information in this 90 page book.
When he first contacted me about his book, I read some of the reviews on amazon.com. Overall this book is rated 4.5 stars out of 5. I would have to agree with the overall rating, I’d give his book a 4.5. Read a few pages for yourself HERE

If you are just starting out with running and want to know more about the basics (ie: running form, types of shoes, fueling, motivation, etc) this book has what you need. He put so much information in this book that I would assume it would almost be overwhelming to the novice runner. But, taken gradually and one step at a time as he suggests, it has everything you need. It is a great guide for starting out and progressing to be a lifelong runner.
That being said, it is also a good resource for seasoned runners. There are little tips and reminders that I think sometimes we forget, overlook, or neglect, at least I do. Right there in the title is “the key to running inspired”, and a lot of us, on occasion need that reminder and inspiration. He has visualization exercises and this stood out to me,
Running really is an ongoing process and even the vets need a reminder of why we do it, “how far we’ve come”, and where we want to be.
Two thumbs up!

I would love this book as a resource to answer questions I have about running.
I follow your page.
I'd love to get this book to give to my younger sister. I think it would be the perfect opening for her to get into running!
I have several books on running, different training plans, and runners' memoirs. I love reading the wealth of knowledge there is out there on these topics. Additionally, my friend is hesitant to begin a running program for fear of failure, and I would love to offer her this resource to motivate and inspire her :)
